Mission Trails Regional Park
5800- acre Mission Trails Regional Park is located in Mission Gorge on the east edge of San Diego and is one of the largest urban parks in the country.
After about a 20 minute drive from our Hillcrest carpool area, hikers should arrive at the first-class Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor's Center by 9:35 am. After a stop at the visitors center, we'll drive up the Father Junipero Serra Trail Road to the parking area near the Old Mission Dam. From there, we'll start our hike at 10:30 am, north thru Oak Canyon. Dogs on leash are allowed. If time allows, we'll also visit nearby Kumeyaay Lake.

Be sure to eat a good breakfast and hydrate with fluids BEFORE the hike! ;^)
